Information for Professionals

The professional community in Suffolk County is encouraged to contact the Al-Anon Suffolk County Information Service (A.S.I.S) to find out how Al-Anon works and how you can help members in our community who are or have been affected by someone else's drinking.

Many professionals in our community such as doctors and nurses, counselors and therapists, social workers, law enforcement, human resources personnel, attorneys, teachers, spiritual leaders etc., are referring families and friends of alcoholics to Al-Anon.

The A.S.I.S. can assist professionals who are interested in getting more information about the Al-Anon Program. Please contact us if you have questions or need more information at outreach@al-anon-suffolk-ny.org

In addition, In order for professionals to familiarize themselves with the Al-Anon program we suggest to read some of the material (listed below) that is available to professionals. In addition, we recommend browsing through our website and reading about Al-Anon and Alateen, as well as some of the answers in the FAQ page, the newcomers page, and the tools of the program.

In order to refer someone to Al-Anon, simply provide them with our phone number and how to find a meeting. You can go here for the meetings list in Suffolk County or here for meetings out of the area.
