|
Alateen is part of the Al-Anon fellowship designed for the younger relatives and friends of alcoholics through the teen years, usually between 12 and 18. Alateen members conduct their own meetings with the guidance of an Al-Anon member Sponsor. Alateen groups follows the same Twelve Steps, Twelve Traditions, and principles as Al-Anon.
Where there is no Alateen meetings available, young people are encouraged to attend Al-Anon meetings. It is within the autonomy of each Alateen group to lower the age limit or divide into groups according to age. |
